Terry Francona says he peed on himself during Michael Bourn ejection

Terry-Francona

Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona had some bathroom trouble during his team’s win over the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday night.

It all started when Indians outfielder Michael Bourn was unhappy with a called third strike in the top of the fourth. Bourn ended up being ejected by home plate umpire Phil Cuzzi for arguing, but where was the manager while all this was going on?

Trying to zip up his fly, apparently.

“I don’t know, man. I was trying to go to the bathroom,” Francona told reporters after the game, per MLB.com’s Jordan Bastian. “I can’t even do that in peace. I heard the guys yelling and started trying to get myself in order. All I did was really kind of pee on myself. And it was too late to help Bourny out anyway.”

Don’t you hate it when that happens? We all know Francona is a character (just look at his method of transportation for getting to work), but he probably wasn’t joking. He obviously would have come out to help Bourn argue if he wasn’t in the middle of relieving himself. What are the odds?
