Watch: Tim Tebow goes oppo for second home run of season

Tim Tebow Mets

Tim Tebow has had a rough season so far in Triple-A, but he did put together an impressive stroke on Friday night.

Tebow connected on an opposite field home run for the Syracuse Mets in the second inning of their game against the Buffalo Bisons.

That’s Tebow’s second homer of the season. He’s batting just .153/.233/.226 in 61 games for Syracuse this season.

Tebow seems to have hit his ceiling in terms of ability, though the Mets are giving him every chance possible to succeed. Some may laugh at his numbers, but we’re doing anything but that.

For a guy to pick up the sport professionally at age 29 after not playing since high school and then go out and put up a very solid .273 batting average and .735 OPS at Double-A last season, as Tebow did, is nothing short of impressive. He’s giving baseball a legitimate run. Let’s also not count out his chances of still figuring things out if the Mets continue to give him opportunities to do so.
