Tom Brady to David Ortiz: It’s not too late to change your mind about retiring

Tom Brady and David Ortiz have become good friends as their legends have grown over the years in the Boston area. And as someone who has every intention of playing until he is 50, it must stun Brady that Big Papi is retiring after the monster season the slugger has had.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Brady wished Ortiz luck in the playoffs and gave a shoutout to the Red Sox star’s charitable organization. Of course, Brady also threw in a jab about Ortiz calling it quits after an MVP-caliber year.

Ortiz’s 38 home runs, 127 RBI and .315 batting average are all his highest marks since he was in the prime of his career about nine or 10 seasons ago. However, he has openly admitted that he is using every last drop he has in the tank this year. The great season is likely a product of Papi knowing this is his last go-around.

Plus, think about all the amazing tributes Ortiz has gotten this season. How would it look if he changed his mind after all that? Sorry Tom, it’s not going to happen.
