Travis Wood left with mangled finger after crossbow accident

If hunting with a crossbow is your thing, you might want to take what happened to Detroit Tigers pitcher Travis Wood as a friendly reminder to always put safety first.

When pitchers and catchers arrived at spring training this week, Wood revealed to reporters that he suffered a nasty finger injury in a crossbow accident about a month ago. Again, the injury was to Wood’s right hand, so it could have been a lot worse from a baseball perspective. Someone like this NFL star would probably tell Wood his injury is nothing, but that whole push pin thing doesn’t look natural.
