Awesome video shows Alex Bregman’s brother learning he’s been drafted
An awesome video recorded by a reporter in Houston shows the great reaction Alex Bregman’s brother had to learning he had been drafted by the Astros.
Alex Bregman, a 24-year-old third baseman for the Astros, broke the news to his brother AJ that he had been selected in the 35th round of the draft. He shared the news so casually that you can see AJ almost doing a double-take after hearing the news.

AJ Bregman is a left-handed pitcher who is headed to the University of New Mexico. What likely added to his shock is that according to MaxPreps, he was just 2-1 with a 3.50 ERA as a senior this spring — hardly the numbers of a top draft prospect.
“It was surreal. I’m just so excited that happened. … I can’t take it all in right now. Pretty shocked. I had no idea, honestly,” AJ told MLB.com.
In addition to Bregman, the Astros also selected Carlos Correa’s brother in the 33rd round. No word on how that video looked.
