Former San Francisco Giants stars Jeff Kent and Barry Bonds have long buried the hatchet, and their friendship was on full display in hilarious fashion on the field on Sunday.
The Giants retired Kent’s jersey before the second game of a doubleheader between San Francisco and the Arizona Diamondbacks at Oracle Park in San Francisco, Calif. Present at the ceremony was Bonds, who infamously had a shoving incident with Kent in the dugout in 2002.
Over two decades later, they recreated that heated incident in hilarious fashion.
As Kent greeted fellow Giants legends, he and Bonds hugged. Bonds did not immediately let Kent go, holding on to his former teammate and shaking him as the two laughed.

It was definitely a great sight for Giants fans, who surely needed a moment like that to make them forget, at least momentarily, about the season their team is having. They can also just wish that prime Kent and Bonds were on San Francisco’s current roster, with the Giants languishing near the bottom of the National League West standings and having one of the worst records overall in the big leagues.
San Francisco is virtually out of contention for a playoff spot with a 55-81 record following their 7-1 loss to the Diamondbacks in the first game of the doubleheader.
