Vin Scully unloads on Ryan Howard after Howard ties Joe DiMaggio
Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard tied Joe DiMaggio for 81st on baseball’s all-time home run list Friday night. DiMaggio is a Hall of Famer and considered one of the greatest MLB players to ever play. Ryan Howard — not so much.
And just in case you forgot that Howard will never be in the same class as DiMaggio no matter how many home runs he hits, legendary broadcaster Vin Scully is here to remind us. While updating viewers on Howard’s milestone, Scully basically called Howard out for stinking.
Here’s the transcription:

While we love Vin and everything he said was true, that was some serious hating from the 88-year-old.
Scully has brought us countless incredible anecdotes and hilarious comments (this one was the best) over the years. Howard probably won’t be entertained by those remarks, regardless of how accurate they were.
