Vladimir Guerrero Jr wants to participate in Home Run Derby

Vladimir Guerrero Jr has done a good job of showing baseball fans his tremendous power since the Toronto Blue Jays called him up in late April, and he is hoping to put it on display in the Home Run Derby.
ESPN’s Marly Rivera asked Guerrero on Wednesday about the possibility of taking part in the Home Run Derby, and the 20-year-old made it clear he would love an invite. His response translates to, “Yes, of course.”
I just asked Vlad Guerrero Jr. whether, if he was invited, he would take part in the #HRDerby on @espn during the @AllStarGame festivities, his answer: “Claro que sí.” “Yes, of course.” His father @VladGuerrero27 won the 2007 Home Run Derby, when Vladdy was 8 years old. pic.twitter.com/qeqZLgey9K

Guerrero’s father, Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero, won the Home Run Derby in 2007. If MLB wants to make the event as exciting as possible, having Vlad Jr take part would be a good idea. If you’ve seen how far the guy hits a ball during games, you know what he’s capable of in batting practice. The younger Guerrero has seven home runs in his first 33 MLB games.
