Watch: Carlos Gomez flops like Neymar after HBP
Carlos Gomez brought the theatrics to Saturday’s game against the White Sox.
In the sixth inning, the Tampa Bay Rays veteran was struck in the ribs by a 96-mph offering from Sox lefty Carlos Rodon. To accentuate it, Gomez offered a delayed Neymar-esque flop and roll-around. Check out the funny video:

Gomez actually led the American League in hit-by-pitches last season with 19. What is even more remarkable is that the plunking you saw above now ties him for the MLB lead again this season with 17.
The 32-year-old is probably at the point where he gets drilled so often that he’s starting to find humor in it. Hopefully though, the mass HBPs aren’t causing the explosive temper tantrums we’ve seen from Gomez recently.
