
Welington Castillo will be suspended 80 games for a PED violation, according to reports.
Dominican Republic reporter Hector Gomez reported the news on Wednesday and said the suspension would be announced Thursday. The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal confirmed the report and said that the suspension was not for using a steroid.

Castillo, 31, has been a bright spot for an otherwise shaky Chicago White Sox club this season. He’s batting .272 with six homers and five doubles. Omar Narvaez will likely see action at catcher with Castillo set to miss significant time.
