Yankees offer very unusual merchandise at team store for Dodgers series
The New York Yankees are welcoming the Los Angeles Dodgers to Yankee Stadium for a major weekend series, and they are embracing the opposition in an unusual way.
A fan attending Friday’s game shared an image of a rather startling discovery at one of the team stores at Yankee Stadium: the Yankees are actually selling Shohei Ohtani jerseys while the Dodgers are in town. Not only that, but the team is even selling caps that bear the numbers of both Ohtani and Yankees star Aaron Judge.

It is worth noting that the Yankees have actually sold Ohtani jerseys before when the Los Angeles Angels came to town in years past. One could argue that is somewhat defensible: some Dodgers fans will presumably be in attendance, and there are undoubtedly some people going to the game just to see Ohtani. The Judge-Ohtani cap is a little bit stranger, though. Some casual fans might be interested, but it is tough to imagine there being a huge market for that.
Yankees fans will probably hate this. Then again, if the proceeds wind up going toward keeping Juan Soto in The Bronx, they will presumably get over it.
