Yasiel Puig takes bat for electric stimulation in hopes of breaking slump
In the midst of a 7-for-38 slump in the month of May, Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig has now turned to radically experimental measures in an attempt to break out of it.
Puig posted the following image to his Twitter account on Friday of he and teammate Enrique Hernandez (himself in an 0-for-17 funk in May) taking their bats into the trainer’s room for some electric stimulation therapy.

The Dodgers are currently in first place in the NL West with a record of 18-17. But the two right-handed hitters have been of little help to the crusade as Puig is batting just .230/.276/.365 on the year, while Hernandez has been even worse at .203/.295/.333. The pair has combined for only five home runs and 20 RBIs while racking up 44 strikeouts to just 15 walks.
Hopefully the treatment will help spark some offensive production from the Caribbean duo (no pun intended).
