Allen Iverson has somehow blown $150 million in career earnings

And another one bites the dust. This old story shouldn’t surprise us by now, but for some reason it is still just as shocking to hear. Allen Iverson made more than $150 million during a career in which he was one of the NBA’s best players. When a Georgia judge recently ordered A.I. to pay off his $860,000 debt at a jewelery store, he was unable to. That’s because Iverson has no money left.

According to The Inquirer, Iverson’s bank account has been seized and whatever earnings he has remaining will be garnished. At age 36, A.I. has successfully blown through all $154,494,445 he made while playing for the Sixers alone. It hasn’t helped that no NBA teams are interested in his services. That lack of interest has left Iverson to seek employment in places like the Puerto Rican league.

I understand how somebody can spent $150 million, but I have no idea how someone can spend $150 million. Does that make sense? Wouldn’t you start to get nervous when your financial adviser told you you were down to your last $10 million or so? I guess that just goes to show you how untouchable some of these athletes can feel.
