The Golden State Warriors are coming off an incredible stretch where they won three championships, made five NBA Finals appearances and put together the best regular season in NBA history, and they seem intent on honoring every key player who helped them accomplish all those feats.
On Sunday, the Warriors officially announced the trade that will send veteran swingman Andre Iguodala to the Memphis Grizzlies. In the same statement, team owner Joe Lacob thanked Iguodala for six great seasons and said we will see his No. 9 hanging in the rafters at the new Chase Center next year.

Iguodala is one of the best defenders in basketball, and he was named NBA Finals MVP when the Warriors won the title in 2015. With the Warriors already having announced that they will retire Kevin Durant’s jersey, it makes sense that they are giving Iguodala the same treatment.
