Anthony Bennett to work out for Nets

Anthony Bennett

Former No. 1 overall draft pick Anthony Bennett is getting another shot to make it in the NBA.

Bennett, who played 19 games with the Toronto Raptors this season before being waived, will work out for the Brooklyn Nets this week, according to a report.

Bennett is on his way to becoming one of the biggest draft busts in NBA history, but it sounds like he will be getting another chance to prove himself.

Bennett was selected No. 1 overall by the Cavs out of UNLV in 2013. He played just 52 games and averaged only 4.2 points and 3.0 rebounds in 12.8 minutes per game during his rookie season. He was promptly traded to Minnesota in the Kevin Love deal, and he did not fare much better there.

The Raptors had Bennett up and down from the D-League this season before waiving him in February. At last check we heard in April that there was a possibility of Bennett going to play for an Australian team.
