Bismack Biyombo willing to take hometown discount to stay in Toronto

With his shot-erasing, rebound-munching, rim-running ways this postseason, Raptors big man Bismack Biyombo has played himself into a nice payday for his impending unrestricted free agency over the summer. But as it turns out, Biyombo may be willing to leave it all on the table in order to come back to Toronto next season.

On Monday, Biyombo said that he wants to return to the Raptors and is open to taking a hometown discount to do so, per Andrew Walker of Sportsnet.

The 23-year-old brought phenomenal energy on both ends for the Raptors (not to mention earth-wrecking blocks, Mutombo-inspired swagger, and social media gold) during their run to the Eastern Conference Finals this year, particularly when starting center Jonas Valanciunas suffered an ankle injury.

With that kind of stellar playoff performance, Biyombo deserves and will get a sizable amount of interest on the open market this offseason. But if he gets his way, it looks like both Biyombo and his index finger will be staying up north for the forseeable future.
