Report: Blake Griffin still not medically cleared, may not return until late March

blake-griffin-2015-16

Blake Griffin’s recovery from injury is taking longer than the Los Angeles Clippers had hoped it would.

According to Dan Woike of the Orange County Register, Griffin’s injury timetable has been moved back to late March in light of his quad injury not progressing as quickly as the team had hoped.

It is the quad, not his broken hand, that is holding him back from returning. The hand injury, of course, was sustained while punching team staffer Matias Testi, and Griffin will still have to serve a four game suspension for that incident once he’s medically cleared.

Woike noted that the Clippers are being cautious with the injury and Griffin would likely be playing through it if it were the postseason.

The Clippers would definitely welcome Griffin back whenever he’s ready. That said, at least one of their players believes that the team is better in one aspect of the game without their star big man.
