Bobby Portis fined for reckless contact on Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Bobby Portis was ejected from Tuesday night’s New York Knicks-Los Angeles Lakers game for a Flagrant Foul 2 he committed against Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and he has received additional discipline.
The league announced on Wednesday that Portis has been fined $25,000 for the play. In their announcement, the league said Portis was being fined for “recklessly making contact” above Caldwell-Pope’s shoulders.
KCP exited the game after the foul and was checked for a concussion but cleared.
In addition to Caldwell-Pope being smacked, Anthony Davis took a hard fall in the third quarter and bruised his tailbone. The Lakers won the game 117-87 to improve to 30-7 on the season.
