Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens has become a cult hero after leading an undermanned team to the conference finals, but he’s not entirely comfortable with it.
The praise for Stevens has flowed in as a Celtics team without stars Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward sits three wins away from an NBA Finals appearance, but the coach said Monday that he’d rather not have the attention.

LeBron James caused a bit of a stir when he slightly downplayed Stevens’s work, but Stevens isn’t a huge fan of the attention either. He’s simply going to have to get used to it, though, particularly if the Celtics keep winning.
