Bradley Beal jokes with Jayson Tatum about being paid by Duke
Bradley Beal joked with Jayson Tatum during an Instagram chat about the emerging Boston Celtics star being paid by Duke while in college.
Beal and Tatum teamed up for an Instagram Live session on Friday night. They talked about numerous subjects, including their donation of 1,000 pizzas to hospital workers in St. Louis. They also talked about Jalen Green choosing to play in the G League for $500,000 instead of going to college.
That led Beal to joke with Tatum, who played one season at Duke from 2016-2017.
Tremendous.
Jayson Tatum says he might’ve still gone to Duke instead of taking $500K in the G League.
Bradley Beal: "So Duke gave you $600K?"
Tatum: "Hey, Duke might be the only stand-up school in the country."
Beal: "Listen man, I was born, but I wasn’t born yesterday."

That’s part of the joke — there has been somewhat of an assumption that top players are getting paid in college under the table. This reality was revealed in the recent college basketball scandal.
As for those saying Duke doesn’t pay its players, well, one person has alleged a recent superstar got paid by the Blue Devils.
