Carmelo Anthony discusses why he chose to join Thunder
Carmelo Anthony is officially a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, and he has explained some of the reasons behind accepting a trade there.
Anthony — dressed in a hoodie — shrugged off those who felt he would never play in a city like Oklahoma City, saying that he was excited to play with Russell Westbrook and was ready to “embrace” playing power forward.
Melo on the assumption he’d never play somewhere like Oklahoma City: “That’s because nobody really knew me.”

Melo on playing 4: “I have no problem playing the 4. I actually like that, actually embrace that. For this team, I think it will be better.”

It’s safe to say that without Russell Westbrook and Paul George, Anthony would not be in Oklahoma City. He is now, and he sounds like he’s willing to go all-in to win.
