Carmelo Anthony takes apparent shot at coaching, says Knicks never change gameplan

Carmelo Anthony

Carmelo Anthony is pretty clearly growing more and more frustrated by what’s happening to the New York Knicks.

After the team’s 105-102 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, a game in which the Knicks blew a double-digit second half lead, Anthony seemed to take a shot at the team’s coaching staff for a lack of in-game adjustments.

“We play the same way throughout the course of the game,” Anthony said, via Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News. “And when teams make adjustments we’re still playing the same way as teams make those adjustments defensively.”

Anthony’s remarks could also be read as criticism of the triangle offense, which the Knicks have been putting a greater emphasis on recently.

Anthony has made it pretty clear that he isn’t pleased with the direction of the Knicks, and who can blame him? They now sit at 25-37, 4.5 games out of the final playoff spot in the East, and their postseason hopes are fading quickly.
