International basketball reporter David Pick revealed Saturday that Carmelo Anthony has been engaging with his Knicks teammates as training camp nears and has been sending texts of encouragement to Kristaps Porzingis, Willy Hernangomez, and Mindaugas Kuzminskas in particular during EuroBasket.

Though the star forward has been pursuing a trade to Houston for many months now, his future still remains in limbo as the offseason winds down. For what it’s worth, at least one of those young Knicks has hinted at a desire to see Anthony stay, so perhaps the odds are increasing that the 10-time All-Star enters training camp, which is now just a few weeks away, with the team.
