Carmelo Anthony and his wife La La have separated, according to a report.
TMZ reported Monday that the two are living apart, with La La Anthony having moved into her own place in New York City.
Sources told the website that the past NBA season was extremely difficult on the couple, with Carmelo Anthony being plagued by trade rumors that are only set to intensify in the weeks to come.
The report indicated that the split is amicable and the topic of divorce has not yet come up. They were seen together over the weekend at 10-year-old son Kiyan’s basketball game, and the pair do not intend to move their son out of New York and force him to change schools and find new friends.
Anthony stated in January that his family was definitely part of his thinking with regard to waiving his no-trade clause. As Anthony’s Knicks tenure has deteriorated, it seems that his marriage has as well.
