Carmelo Anthony is not interested in speaking to the New York Knicks’ new front office no matter what they have to say.
According to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News, Anthony has yet to speak to new team president Steve Mills about his future with the organization because in his mind, there is no reason to.
“For him, there’s nothing to talk about,” a source close to Anthony said.
Anthony has no plans to change that, stemming from the fact that the front office abruptly put a deal with the Houston Rockets on hold after it looked like an agreement was imminent.
On Wednesday, Anthony was just as noncommittal when speaking about new general manager Scott Perry.
“I’m pretty sure I’ll talk to him when the time comes,” Anthony said.
There really isn’t a lot to say at this point, which is why nobody involved is talking to each other. Both sides know that Anthony does not want to be back with the Knicks and wishes to be traded to the Rockets. It’s simply a matter of making it happen.
