Cavaliers reportedly nearly acquired Eric Bledsoe, Paul George in three-team deal

The Cleveland Cavaliers could have gotten an even bigger haul for point guard Kyrie Irving, according to one report.

According to Jason Lloyd of the Athletic, the Cavaliers had the parameters of a three-team deal in place before former general manager David Griffin left that would have brought both Eric Bledsoe and Paul George to the Cavaliers.

The deal would have sent Irving to Phoenix, while the Pacers would have received Iman Shumpert and the No. 4 overall pick that was ultimately used by the Suns on Josh Jackson. Cleveland would have landed both Bledsoe and George in return.

The deal fell apart, however, when Griffin left Cleveland, unable to come to terms with the team on a new contract.

This may not have been the only big deal Griffin had been close to swinging in Cleveland. The team may yet regret not doing more to keep their former general manager on board.
