Report: Cavs will work hard to extend Larry Nance Jr
The Cleveland Cavaliers just gave Kevin Love a multi-year contract extension, and now it appears that Larry Nance Jr will be next up to the plate.
Terry Pluto of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported this week that the Cavs will “work hard” to extend the 25-year-old big man before he becomes a free agent next summer, adding that they “love” him.
Nance, who was acquired from the Lakers in February, put up 8.9 points and 7.0 rebounds in just 20.8 minutes per game for the Cavs after coming aboard. He also provided some crucial rotation minutes during their NBA Finals run.
The former first-round pick has asserted himself as an end-to-end spark plug who extends possessions, fights for loose balls, and dunks dudes into oblivion. The Cavs have got to like the nasty that he showed in the playoffs as well, and it’s clear that Nance has all the makings of a longterm building block for them.
