Zion Williamson is not exactly Captain Friendly from the looks of it.
New Orleans Pelicans shooting guard CJ McCollum spoke with TNT at NBA All-Star Weekend and had a curious response when asked about his relationship thus far with his new teammate Williamson.
“I haven’t had conversations with him directly,” he said of Williamson. “I’ve spoken with some people close to him and look forward to sitting down with him sooner than later. I know about as much as you do right now but I’m gonna get to the bottom of it.”
That is definitely not a great look for Williamson, who apparently couldn’t even be bothered to send a “welcome to the team” text to McCollum. The veteran McCollum is also one of the more respected players in the league and is president of the Players Association, so he is not difficult to reach.
Williamson’s diva behavior seems to have gotten worse during his continued recovery from injury. He already appears to be doing his own thing without much regard for the team. Now Williamson isn’t showing much regard for his new co-star either.
