The LA Clippers are doing whatever they can to make Kawhi Leonard comfortable in his first season with them.
Jabari Young of The Athletic reported this week that the Clippers are hiring the Finals MVP’s close friend, Jeremy Castleberry, as an assistant coach.
Castleberry, who got his start as an assistant video coordinator with Leonard’s first NBA team, the San Antonio Spurs, now works in a player development role. He played with Leonard in high school and then as a walk-on in college at San Diego State and has been billed as the All-Star forward’s best friend.
The hiring is not particularly unusual, as Castleberry also got a job with the Toronto Raptors last year after they acquired Leonard via trade.
