Corey Brewer: We got our butt kicked, it was embarrassing

Corey-Brewert

The Houston Rockets might be better served to start their offseason early rather than showing up for Game 4 against the Golden State Warriors. Even if Houston forces Game 5, it appears the series is all but over.

Rockets guard Corey Brewer’s thoughts after his team backed itself into an 0-3 series hole on Saturday night said it all.

“They outplayed us in every aspect of the game,” Brewer told reporters, per Jonathan Feigen of The Houston Chronicle. “We just got our butt kicked. It was embarrassing. It’s embarrassing anytime you lose by 30, especially on your home court.”

While losing the first two games of the series was disappointing for the Rockets, they had a chance to win both. They lost Game 1 and Game 2 by a combined total of five points. After hanging tough in Golden State, many felt some home cooking would be just what Houston needed.

Instead, Stephen Curry went off for 40 points and led the Warriors to a 115-80 win. The Rockets had no answer for him.

“We can’t give up on each other,” Dwight Howard said. “We’ve come too far, we’ve been through too many battles to just allow it to end like tonight.”

It’s almost impossible to take any positives from Saturday’s game. The Rockets were lost, and they may not be able to recover from it. Now do you see what Kobe Bryant was talking about when he made up his own riddle about Curry? The Warriors look tough to beat.
