Fans were quick to call out a man who wasn’t even in the building for Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.
The Oklahoma City Thunder were without All-Star Jalen Williams for the contest on Friday against the San Antonio Spurs, leaving a scoring void that the rest of the team needed to fill. Jared McCain was ready to do just that in front of a hostile road crowd.
McCain was the Thunder’s second-leading scorer behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, finishing with 24 points on 10/21 shooting off the bench. Fans couldn’t help but look back on former Philadelphia 76ers GM Daryl Morey’s comments in February about “selling high” on McCain when he traded the young guard to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Gotta wonder if Daryl Morey is still quite confident he sold high on Jared McCain pic.twitter.com/iMkaGS65sm

The Thunder traded three second-round picks and what is likely to be a late first-round pick to the 76ers in exchange for McCain. The Duke alum looked much more valuable in Game 3 than the collection of picks-to-be-used-later Morey scored for the Sixers.
Fans and media members made sure to remind him of that.
Every time anyone talks about Jared McCain, all I can hear in my head is Daryl Morey saying “quite confident we’re selling high.” Just the most yikes of yikeses.

Never forget that Daryl Morey traded Jared McCain to OKC and got absolutely no one in return.

Several folks even demanded additional punishments for Morey, who got fired earlier this month.
Daryl Morey losing his job is simply not enough

McCain tied Alex Caruso with a Thunder-best +28 off the bench en route to a 123-108 win.
The 76ers could have definitely used McCain during their second-round series against the New York Knicks. Philly got swept by their East rivals, partly because they lacked another dynamic offensive playmaker like McCain.
Instead, the defending champion Thunder have McCain scoring 24 points in a pivotal Game 3 in the Western Conference Finals. How’s that for selling high?
