Former Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin’s time as an NBA TV analyst gave us a lot of insight into how he thinks about things, and some of that is coming in useful now that he has a new job.
Now in charge of the New Orleans Pelicans, Griffin will inherit the messy Anthony Davis situation. During his time as an analyst, however, he already gave us an idea of what he’d do about it.
Here’s David Griffin on what his ‘Anthony Davis plan’ would be if he was in charge.

There’s a big difference between saying this on TV and actually doing it, but it will be interesting to see if Griffin actually uses that as his blueprint when trying to trade Davis. It would make sense to, and one team may be a good starting point for Griffin to open talks with after the playoffs.
