Report: DeAndre Jordan looking at ways to join Mavericks
DeAndre Jordan’s days with the Los Angeles Clippers appear numbered, and it’s simply a matter of how he ultimately opts to leave the team.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Jordan has yet to make a decision on his $24.1 million option for next season. He could ultimately opt-in in order to facilitate a sign-and-trade deal with the Dallas Mavericks, or he could simply opt out and sign with them via free agency.
Sources: DeAndre Jordan still deliberating his Clippers $24.1M option with deadline approaching at 11:59 PM. Talks on a sign-and-trade could pick up again, but dormant today. Jordan could opt-out and sign free agent deal w/ Mavericks, or opt-in and work with Clippers on a trade.

Wojnarowski notes that trade talks aren’t happening right now, which could impact his decision. The easiest thing to do from Jordan’s perspective would likely be to opt out and just pick his new team, which certainly sounds like Dallas.
The Mavericks and Jordan had an infamously ill-fated courtship three years ago, but it sounds like Dallas is willing to let bygones be bygones. Whatever the case, Jordan sounds like he’s finished with the Clippers, who are headed into a rebuild.
