DeMarcus Cousins was always expected to be a one-year experiment for the Golden State Warriors, but the center isn’t closing the door on potentially extending his stay.
Cousins admitted he was “open” to staying with Golden State despite the fact that the Warriors are very limited in what they could pay him.
“I’m open,” Cousins said, via Mark Medina of Bay Area News Group. “We’ll see what happens.

“It was a weird summer last summer. So you never know how things work out. I’m open and I’ll make the best decision for myself and my family. We’ll see which way the wind blows.”
Cousins took a one-year deal with the Warriors to contend for a title and rebuild his value. He did not get the first, and the second didn’t go quite as well as he likely hoped either, instead raising fresh concerns about his durability. He’s still probably priced himself beyond the roughly $6.3 million the Warriors can offer, but he wasn’t expected to wind up there last summer, so it’s not completely impossible.
