The Golden State Warriors could be getting DeMarcus Cousins available around the new year.
According to Logan Murdock of the Bay Area News Group, Cousins is aiming to make his Warriors debut after Christmas, and has been participating in scrimmages with the team. He hasn’t experienced any setbacks and appears to be getting closer to full strength.
Cousins’ rehab has gone so well, apparently, that he had sought to play in Golden State’s upcoming road trip before the team’s training staff decided to be more cautious and give him more time to get up to peak form.
As of last month, Cousins was making good progress, and it doesn’t sound like anything has changed. If there are no setbacks or issues, the Warriors are now looking at the very real possibility of having Cousins available for a full three months of regular season action, which is probably more than they might have expected when signing him after he tore his Achilles last January.
