Dirk Nowitzki received a warm welcome in New York City on Wednesday night.
Fans at Madison Square Garden gave Nowitzki a standing ovation as he checked into the Dallas Mavericks’ game against thew New York Knicks late in the first quarter.

Nowitzki is planning to retire after the season and is on his farewell tour. This is set to be his last trip to MSG as a player, so the fans in New York were trying to show the Dallas legend their respect for him.
Dirk is returning from offseason ankle surgery and is averaging 3.7 points in 10 minutes per game this season.
