Dirk Nowitzki can tell which teams are tanking

This late in the NBA season, it seems fairly obvious which teams are trying to get into the playoffs, and which teams are jockeying for better draft position. Dirk Nowitzki says he can tell which category teams fall under.

Dirk’s Dallas Mavericks beat the New York Knicks 110-97 on Tuesday night in a battle of two 20-plus win teams. Afterwards, Nowitzki said he can tell which teams are trying and which aren’t.

Gotta love Dirk Nowitzki. On if he can tell which teams are trying now, he said: "“Yeah, it’s pretty obvious. There obviously are some teams that are going for some losses. We're one that still wants to win." As for any ideas of tanking? "Well, I think Mark messed that up for us"

The Bulls were another team trying to lose, but they received a warning from the league. Mark Cuban also openly admitted he wanted the Mavs to tank, but he got fined for his comments, and that changed things for his team.
