Here is what Draymond Green gave up to lose weight this season

Draymond Green

Draymond Green made a great case to be named Western Conference finals MVP if there were such an award.

Green averaged 16.5 points, 11.8 rebounds, 8.8 assists, 2.3 steals, 2.8 blocks per game and was a +51 in the Golden State Warriors’ sweep over the Portland Trail Blazers. His play has been inspired throughout the postseason, with many crediting his recent weight loss as a factor in his game improving.

Green lost around 25 pounds in March, which helped him get in better shape and prepare him for the postseason. So how did he drop that weight?

Rachel Nichols said on “The Jump” on ESPN Tuesday that Green cut out Cheetos, Snickers, wine and tequila. Cutting out those items helped him lose the weight and gain much-needed endurance for the postseason. The results have shown.

Green has four triple-doubles and looks like a new player, especially after struggling through a rough regular season where he seemed to have lost his shooting and scoring touch. His diet wasn’t quite as strict as the one LeBron James once put himself on, but he did what was necessary to improve his career.
