Report: Dwight Howard may be interested in playing for Knicks
People close to Dwight Howard reportedly claim that the big man would be interested in joining the New York Knicks.
The Rockets center, who is almost certain to opt out of his contract at the end of the season, is supposedly interested in playing for the Knicks if they’d have him.
ESPN’s Ian Begley cites league sources who claim that some of Howard’s friends have been making noise about Howard playing for the Knicks next season.
New York will have at least $18 million in cap space during the summer, but it remains to be seen whether they are as interested in Howard as he reportedly is to them.
The Knicks aren’t close to winning now, but Howard and Kristaps Porzingis would be one interesting frontcourt, but it might be asking a lot of Howard and Carmelo Anthony to coexist given Anthony’s previous issues with Amar’e Stoudemire and Howard’s reported issues with James Harden and Kobe Bryant.
