Dwyane Wade’s ex-wife charged with attempting to abduct their kids

As you may or may not recall, Sunday was Father’s Day. But for Dwyane Wade, it was almost a day he didn’t get to spend with his two sons after an incident the day before involving his ex-wife, Siohvaughn Funches-Wade.

Around noon on Saturday, Wade sent his sister to Funches-Wade’s house in Chicago to escort the kids to the airport where they would fly to Miami. But after Wade’s sister got no response at the house, the police got involved. Long story short, Wade’s boys finally got to Miami early Sunday morning. And now Funches-Wade has been slapped with a few ugly-sounding misdemeanor charges. Here’s the AP:

Funches-Wade was charged with two counts of attempted child abduction, two counts of unlawful visitation interference and one count of resisting arrest, Cook County Sheriff’s spokesman Frank Bilecki told The AP on Tuesday. Another woman at the home at the time, Nadgee Alarcon, was charged with one count of resisting arrest, Bilecki said.

”That’s what mattered most to me, getting them here to be with me on Father’s Day,” Wade said.  The whole debacle didn’t seem to be too much of a distraction for Wade, who in Game 3 of the Finals on Sunday still put up 25 points on 36 percent shooting. A hearing is scheduled for June 26, which would be the same day as a Game 7 in Oklahoma City if the series goes to its limit.

And with Chris Bosh’s current issues with his ex, right now the Heat’s biggest opponent isn’t the Thunder; it’s baby mama drama.
