Fans seem to think Jonathan Kuminga may need to consider finding new representation.
Reports confirmed Wednesday that Kuminga has agreed to a two-year, $13 million contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the 23-year-old turned down the Los Angeles Lakers’ offer that would secured him more money and guaranteed years
Kuminga’s decision to take a shorter, less lucrative deal reportedly centered around maintaining “more control of his future.”
Kuminga chose the Timberwolves over offers from the Lakers, Bulls and Trail Blazers — bypassing a similar starting role and $12M-plus annually over three years in L.A. to land in Minnesota for a shorter-term deal and an ability to have more control of his future, sources said. https://t.co/Nq9byvxkII

Several discerning fans on social media did not agree with what many read as an unwise bet-on-yourself strategy proposed by Kuminga’s agent, Aaron Turner. Many online commenters questioned whether Turner was giving his client the right advice, with some even calling the latest contract signing a fireable offense.
He’ll end up having to sign another small contract next summer because his agent is dumb

Kuminga’s IQ as well as his agents still in question

The fact he hasn't fired his agent after all of this is amazing to me…💀💀

He went from a 3yr/75.2mil offer from the Warriors to a 2yr/13mil contract with the Wolves…
This a generational L by Kuminga and his agent…💯🤣🤣
The Lakers’ offer was reportedly around $36 million over three years, about double the annual salary compared to Kuminga’s deal with the T-Wolves.
Kuminga’s move to Minnesota comes about a year after Kuminga turned down a three-year, $75 million offer from the Golden State Warriors.
Some players bet on themselves by signing shorter deals and end up winning big. While Kuminga’s still young enough to eventually get the bag he’s been chasing, the house seems to be wiping the floor with him so far.
