Former All-Star Amar’e Stoudemire considering NBA return
Amar’e Stoudemire could be making his way to an NBA arena near you in the not-so-distant future, if he gets his way.
The last time we saw Stoudemire in the NBA was during the 2015-2016 season when he appeared in 52 games for the Miami Heat. Since then, he headed overseas to play for Hapoel Jerusalem in Israel.
Stoudemire will participate in Ice Cube’s Big 3 league this summer and it sounds like he hopes that could serve as a stepping stone to an NBA return. During an interview with The Michael Kay Show, Stoudemire indicated he is in great physical condition and “training as if he were returning to the NBA.”
Now 35 years old, Stoudemire is a couple of years removed from competing at the highest level of professional basketball. However, The Big 3 could act as a showcase for Stoudemire, though we have our doubts about him being about to play at an NBA level.
Stoudemire officially retired from the NBA two years ago.
