Gregg Popovich torments David Aldridge, reacts to election results (Video)
Gregg Popovich added another entry to his interview hall of fame on Tuesday night.
Popovich gave his usual terse, surly assessment of the Spurs’ first quarter to TNT’s David Aldridge, and then got an added bonus: the results of the New Hampshire Presidential primaries.
“We’re behind and they’re ahead,” Popovich said when asked to assess his team’s performance in the first quarter. Why? “They scored more than we did and we were pretty crappy on defense. It’s been fun.”
As he moved to walk away, Aldridge lured Popovich back by asking if he wanted election results. When told that Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump had prevailed, well, Coach Pop’s long pause and shake of the head has to be seen to be believed.

It seems that much like Charles Barkley, Popovich isn’t a huge Trump fan. Or hey, maybe he disapproves of Bernie Sanders. Whatever the case, it’s good to see that all that practice giving reporters nightmares has paid off.
