When the second half of Game 3 between the Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics began, Isaiah Thomas was not on the floor. The Celtics star guard actually didn’t check in until a few minutes had passed in the quarter.
Why is that? He was getting dental work done.
ESPN’s Cassidy Hubbarth reported during the game that Thomas had some dental work done at halftime. Thomas lost a tooth in Game 1 of the series and underwent oral surgery.
According to Hubbarth, Thomas’ bridge was “off kilter” and that’s what his dentist was fixing. Not only did Thomas lose a tooth, but the teeth on either side were also damaged, so he had to get those fixed as well.
Who knew a dentist would end up being such a big part of the series?
