Not only did the LA Clippers steal away the Los Angeles Lakers’ biggest free agent target in Kawhi Leonard, but they’ve also heisted one of their centers and signed him long term.
The Clippers and center Ivica Zubac agreed to a four-year, $28 million deal, Zubac’s agent told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Clippers acquired Zubac from the Lakers in one of the most lopsided trades of the season several months ago. They got him for Mike Muscala, who hardly did anything in 17 games with the Lakers.
Zubac averaged 9.5 points and 7.7 rebounds per game in 26 contests with the Clippers and was a very effective big man for the team.
Zubac now sticks with a team that has added Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and Moe Harkless, while re-signing Patrick Beverley. They will be loaded and have excellent depth.
