As expected, Ja Morant was the second overall pick in the NBA Draft on Thursday night when he was taken by the Memphis Grizzlies. We all knew that was coming, but no one would have anticipated that the former Murray State star’s dad would steal the show.
Morant’s dad Tee, who gave up his own dreams of playing professional basketball when Ja’s mother became pregnant, wore a hat that was radiating swag. Twitter went absolutely nuts for it.
Shut it down. Ja Morant's dad just won draft night. Everyone else need not apply pic.twitter.com/Z9eMeWQFJ7

Ja Morant said his dad was his first hater, then his dad came to the draft dressed like he’s going to the Playa Hater’s Ball. You love to see it. pic.twitter.com/EUpv2zCHhu

Ja Morant’s Dad makes me feel like I’m not doing enough as a parent. No way my daughters say that stuff about me if they’re drafted in WNBA. pic.twitter.com/uMR1LK3tUE

(Not as good as Ja Morant’s dad’s hat though)

Ja Morant's dad is KILLING it with the hat on tilt

Ja Morant's dad is the best-dressed man in NBA Draft history. Wow.

While there were a few people who had some fun with Tee’s wardrobe, he’s a long way away from getting the Carmelo Anthony treatment. The dude successfully managed to upstage most — if not all — of the best young basketball players in the world.
