James Jones reportedly challenged Cavs in locker room after blowout loss to Spurs

Despite averaging fewer than 10 minutes per game in his Cleveland Cavaliers career, James Jones continues to prove his irreplaceability to the team.

According to a report by Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com on Thursday, the veteran forward challenged the Cavs in the locker room after Monday’s 103-74 loss to the San Antonio Spurs, “asking rhetorically what the players really wanted out of this season.”

The 36-year-old Jones, who also serves as the secretary-treasurer of the NBA Players Association, is in his 14th season in the league and has been lauded throughout his career for his leadership qualities in spite of his minimal playing time as a three-point specialist. We’ve seen similar displays from Jones in the past, so it will be interesting how the team heeds his message, starting with Thursday’s nationally-televised game against the Chicago Bulls.
