Jay Wright may need a very specific set of circumstances to leave Villanova.
Justin Tasch and Marc Berman of the New York Post reported this week that the impression from people who know Wright is that the only job he would depart the Wildcats for is that of the Philadelphia 76ers.
Thw two-time national championship-winning head coach was recently linked to the New York Knicks head coaching vacancy. He hails from Churchville, Penn. however, and it makes sense that only an opportunity to come home at the NBA level might pry him away from Villanova after nearly two decades in charge there.
Current Sixers coach Brett Brown carries at least a bit of uncertainty with regard to his long-term status, so perhaps Wright is holding out hope here.
