A divorce between Butler and the Timberwolves feels inevitable. He has dropped some hints that he’d be happy to move elsewhere, and he can opt out of his contract at the end of the upcoming season. It may be in Minnesota’s best interest to deal with that now to eliminate the uncertainty ahead of the new season, especially if, as reported, there are some issues between Butler and teammates.
