JJ Redick gives Clippers ‘F-minus’ offseason grade for losing DeAndre Jordan

The Los Angeles Clippers failed to re-sign DeAndre Jordan this offseason, and J.J. Redick is extremely unhappy about it.

During an appearance on SiriusXM’s Bleacher Report Radio Tuesday, Redick was asked to give his team an offseason grade based on moves they have made — or not made — thus far. He didn’t hold back.

“F, F … is there an F-minus?” Redick asked. “Listen, we had one priority this summer and that was to re-sign (Jordan) and we missed out on that. So, barring some miracle, our makeup of our team is completely different now.

“He was such an integral part of what we did, not just defensively but offensively with the screening, rolling and his offensive rebounds. His presence down low essentially made teams either commit to the 3-point line when Blake (Griffin) or Chris (Paul) penetrated or commit to him. He was a huge part of what we did and having him leave for Dallas gives us a failing grade.”

Redick averaged 16.4 points per game last year and shot 43.7 percent from 3-point range. Both marks were career highs, so you can understand why he wanted everything to remain the same heading into next season.

The Clippers will still be a good offensive team, but the loss of Jordan will sting. It hurts even more than he signed with another Western Conference team. That said, something tells us Chris Paul doesn’t feel the same way about Jordan leaving that Redick does.
